Brad Paisley maps new 'Saturday Night' dates for 2010 Tour : Brad Paisley continues to shape the 2010 spring and summer edition of his "American Saturday Night Tour," which played in front of more than a million people last year.
The country star kicks off the run May 21 in Virginia Beach, VA, and currently has dates lined up through Sept. 25 in Englewood, CO. Some of the shows, featuring support from Darius Rucker, will be part of Live Nation's multi-show, one-price County Megaticket promotion; more info can be found at the Megaticket website. Earlier this month, Paisley was transported to a hospital by ambulance after falling on stage during a performance in Charleston, SC. The singer--who bounced back up and finished the show before leaving for the hospital--was examined by doctors and found to be badly bruised but otherwise not seriously injured, and was subsequently discharged.
Paisley has performed for more than 1.2 million people over the last 12 months, selling out shows in 52 of the 75 cities he's appeared in, according to a press release. A fan at Paisley's Oct. 15 show in Jacksonville, FL, was selected as Paisley's one-millionth ticket-holder of the year and presented with a 2009 Chevy truck.
Released last June, "American Saturday Night"--Paisley's eighth studio set--debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart and No. 2 on The Billboard 200.
In November, Paisley co-hosted the CMA Awards for the second straight year, and also took home a pair of trophies: Male Vocalist of the Year and Music Event of the Year for "Start a Band," his duet with Keith Urban. ... Source ...
Brad Paisley Extends American Saturday Night Tour into 2010 : Brad Paisley has extended his highly successful American Saturday Night tour into 2010, adding 19 dates with Miranda Lambert and Justin Moore as special guests.
The tour, named after Paisley's most recent album of the same name, has added dates beginning in January 2010 and ending in March. The album debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart and has produced two hit singles thus far, "Then" and "Welcome To The Future." Paisley has also been nominated seven times for the upcoming CMA Awards in November. Paisley will also co-host the awards with Carrie Underwood for the second year in a row.
Miranda Lambert, known for her redneck/rocker style, debuted her third album, Revolution, last week atop Billboard's Country Album chart. This makes her one of three artists whose first three albums all landed at the No. 1 spot upon release, joining LeAnn Rimes and Gretchen Wilson.
Meanwhile, Justin Moore is the only new artist in 2009 to have a No. 1 song with "Small Town USA." He is also the first solo artist to have a song from his/her debut album go No. 1 since Taylor Swift's "Our Song" in December 2007. Reigning ACM and CMA Male Vocalist of the Year Brad Paisley is pleased to announce his 2009 tour, AMERICAN SATURDAY NIGHT, with special guests Dierks Bentley and Jimmy Wayne. The kick-off date for the 41 city tour is scheduled for June 5 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Paisley has just garnered his thirteenth #1 single and a record-setting ninth consecutive with “Start A Band,” his duet with Keith Urban. The single is from his November 2008 release Play, a critic’s-favorite guitar-driven mostly-instrumental album. Paisley is currently cover feature on the March issue of Guitar Player magazine. The Paisley Party Tour has sold over 750,000 tickets for its 59 dates and continues through February. Brad Paisley says Good Morning America - Country Style Brad Paisley announced that he will be the first country artist to play Good Morning America’s Summer Concert Series this year at the new location of Central Park in New York City. The performance will help boost interest in the album launch for his upcoming June 30 release, American Saturday Night. This week Paisley is in studio putting the finishing touches on this upcoming album but will spend a very American Saturday Night at a White House Correspondents’ Dinner, as the guest of CBS News’ Chief White House Correspondent Bob Schieffer. Paisley and Schieffer met in the Fall of 2008 at a special Grand Ole Opry show at the Ryman Auditorium during Belmont University’s Debate ’08. Several Hollywood celebrities and Washington elite, including President Barack Obama, are scheduled to attend the dinner.
